In the latest Capacity Market auctions, Statera has provisionally secured contracts for 670MW of capacity commencing in October 2027, at a record T-4 clearing price of £65/kW. The Capacity Market ensures the UK’s security of electricity supply by guaranteeing the availability of sufficient back up power.
The T-4 contracts secured are largely for Statera’s Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Contracts secured include 150MW at Thurrock, with total contracted capacity now 300MW, and 290MW at Exeter. These projects are planned to be operational by 2025 and 2027 respectively. Both projects were awarded 15-year contracts, and will contribute to system flexibility and security of supply.
Statera has also secured T-1 contracts for the coming winter for its Minety 2 (50MW) and Dollymans (100MW) operational BESS sites, located in Wiltshire and Essex respectively.
